Tampereen Energia Oy – Power-to-Gas project

We assisted Tampereen Energia in negotiations with Nordic Ren-Gas concerning agreements by which carbon dioxide is transported to Ren-Gas’s planned e-methane production plant and the excess heat is utilized in Tampereen Energia’s district heating network.
The carbon dioxide that is directed to Nordic Ren-Gas’s e-methane production plant in Tampere comes from Tammervoima’s waste-to-energy plant. The carbon dioxide is used to produce synthetic, renewable e-methane. The waste heat produced by the e-methane production plant is transferred to Tampereen Energia’s district heating network, which means that Tampereen Energia’s district heating will increasingly consist of renewable energy.
The signed agreements establish long-term cooperation between Tampereen Energia and Nordic Ren-Gas and promote the implementation of the Tampere e-methane project. Lieke provided comprehensive legal support to Tampereen Energia in the negotiations of the aforementioned agreements.
Lieke’s core team comprised Partner Aimo Halonen, Partner (elect) Alisa Montonen, Partner (elect) Panu Vasama, and Senior Associate Kristiina Välimaa.
