Lestijärvi Wind Farm – Taking-over of Finland’s largest wind farm

We represented the owner of the Lestijärvi wind farm in project management, taking-over, and contract negotiations.

Lieke acted as legal advisor to the owner of the Lestijärvi wind farm on project management, taking-over, and contract negotiations.

The Lestijärvi wind farm comprises 69 wind turbines with a total capacity of 455.4 megawatts. The wind farm’s annual energy production exceeds 1.3 terawatt hours, which corresponds to approximately 1.6 percent of all electricity production in Finland in 2024 (82.7 TWh). The wind farm is valued at approximately EUR 650 million and, upon completion, is Finland’s largest wind farm.

The Lestijärvi wind farm was transferred from OX2 to the owners of the Lestijärvi wind farm project: Kymppivoima, Oulun Energia, and Kuopion Energia. Of these, Kymppivoima’s share of the project is 65 percent, Oulun Energia’s 25 percent, and Kuopion Energia’s 10 percent.
