Finnish Property Owners Rakli, together with its members, has developed a letter of intent template for real estate transactions, now published in both Finnish and English. The goal of the template is to streamline real estate deals and serve the entire market in a fair and balanced way. The template has been designed to be as universally applicable as possible, taking into account the most common alternative methods of executing real estate transactions, without favoring either the seller or the buyer.

This new letter of intent template is a significant step toward more transparent and efficient real estate transactions in Finland. It supports the development of the industry and also facilitates access for international investors to the market.

The working group comprised representatives of property owners and law firms. Lieke’s Senior Associate Michelle Merlich contributed to the development work. Other members of the group were Päivi Tomula (Pontos), Akseli Tuomisto (Mandatum), Ninja Pyy (OP Kiinteistösijoitus), and Tuomas Fonselius (HPP Attorneys).

“It has been great to be part of shaping industry practices and promoting clearer, smoother transactions. Working with Rakli and the group has been constructive and practical: the resulting template brings predictability and transparency to real estate deals,” says Michelle Merlich.
