Haminan Energia Oy – Heat recovery from Google’s datacenter

Lieke assisted Haminan Energia in an agreement related to heat recovery from Google’s datacenter.

We assisted Haminan Energia Oy in an agreement with Google related to heat recovery from Google’s datacenter. Haminan Energia starts a new co-operation with Google. Heat from Google’s datacenter will in future flow in Hamina’s local district heating network. Heat recovered from Google will be transferred to a heat pump where the temperature of the recovered heat will be increased to a level suitable for the district heating network. The 5 MW heat pump could produce 40 GWh of district heat in a year, which at the moment would cover 80 % of Hamina’s district heat volume. The project is significant for Haminan Energia’s carbon neutrality targets.

Lieke’s core team comprised of Senior Associate Panu Vasama and Associate Mikael Lindqvist.
