The Cirrus project, funded by the Ministry of Finance and managed by DigiFinland Oy, aims to promote the Finnish public sector’s transition to the cloud, as set out in the Finnish Government Programme, by developing data protection related operating models and contractual terms for public cloud services. The project will deliver significant operational and cost benefits for the public sector.<\/h3>\n

Lieke has acted as the legal advisor to the project. One of our main tasks in the project has been to draft and negotiate contractual terms and conditions for public procurement, including data protection, with major cloud service providers (AWS, Google, Microsoft and Oracle). The project has required a very extensive analysis of the contractual terms and conditions of the cloud service providers, starting from the needs and legal requirements of public administrations.<\/p>\n
